Help with recording

I have looked at the wiki about recording audio from youtube. I have done it before but I just got a new computer. I have Realtek High Definion Audio V6.0.1.6162 Audio Codec ALC269. This is what I hear from my speakers, and I also have something called Realtek Digital Output. Both I find under my sound options in control panel. So I open up Audacity and I go to select a recording device, but the only thing that shows up is my integrated computer microphone. I want to record clean and clear audio using my computers audio devices but I don't know why they are not showing up. I have used it before on a different computer, but I am no expert. I know this question gets tossed around a lot but I have followed the instructions on the wiki about enabling audio devices and restarting Audacity. I have even tried getting new drivers but then if I plugged in headphones to my laptop, no sound would come out, but sound did come out of the built in speakers.

If you get to the bottom of those, you find out that some computers, particularly the newer ones like to leave that out. If nothing works and you just can't find Stereo-Mix or Mix-Out, you can try the crossed cable jumper thing (which tends not to work on Windows laptops), and if that fails -- and it might -- you can try adding software like Total Recorder and FreeCorder
