Hello,

not sure if this has been asked before but I've had a good hunt around and couldn't see addressed anywhere.

Can anyone explain to me how to get digital audio back onto cassette tape using audacity? I have Audacity 3.1, a tape player with phones socket and an Edirol audiocapture UA-1A usb audio interface.

Any help would be very much appreciated, thanks for reading,

Stephen

A Sony WalkMan tape player isn't going to do it. You need a cassette recorder like the one on the left.

You would plug the headphone or Stereo Line-Out of the computer to the Line-In of the cassette machine with one of these.

Cassette tape recording has a lot of options: matching the tape type: Metal, Oxide, CrO2 and different equalization settings and Dolby levels.

Ah-ha, I think I see my problem now, I'm using an old 'boom box' with a single headphone input, I really need to be going into a proper recorder with two inputs. Thanks very much for your help.
