My setup is a bit archaic:

Win XP SP
Sigmatel Audio

Is it possible to listen to your audio w/o recording it? Hearing it through the speakers when recording but baffled on how I can listen to myself w/o recording the voice? Thanks.

It's not obvious.

In Audacity Preferences set Recording to Playthrough.

In the main program, click once in the red recording meters. After a second or two, both recording and playback meters should wake up and you should be able to hear yourself.

But probably not in real time. People trying Overdubbing find out right away that the headphone sound is "one computer late" and that can be a substantial echo.

If you're just recording vinyl, that won't make any difference.
