Recording of Skype Call - caller only
Hi There,
I'm sure this has been covered at some point but I'm a newbie : )
I recorded a Skype call, which went well from an audio level point of view. The problem was, it recorded the caller or the person I called well, but my mic was not picked up at all, so you only hear the caller, and gaps when I was speaking.
What did I miss here, I've done calls before and they worked but I just upgraded to 1.3.14, so I'm not sure if I missed something.
Any ideas or tips for me please?
Thanks,
Owen

Good Ol' Win7.
Since it partially works now, I'd probably start by turning off Windows Conferencing.

That did not solve anything, but thanks. It's like it only recorded the caller and not me...not sure why, I used the Stereo Mix in Audacity, he was able to hear me when I talked, it just didn't record it, as if the device (my mic) didn't exist.

That's not what you said the first time. You said you recorded very badly.as if the device (my mic) didn't exist.
What you have now is perfectly normal. Skype takes over the sound channels and will not let you record both sides no matter which sound device or adjustment you make. One of our posters went for days under the assumption that there must be a way.
There wasn't. If you do dig in the internals of your computer enough, you can force it to work, but then Skype works badly.
We recommend Total Recorder, one of the four Pamela versions and I think there's a software package called Skype Recorder.

As I recall, what they do is "make" a second sound device in memory and use that instead of the computer's own sound card.
