Inserting edited audio into power point program

Help!
I am very new at this Audacity audio editing program. I have a three-section taped interview loaded on my computer. I used Audacity successfully to edit one section today. But when I tried to export the edited material, Audacity would not allow me to do so. I had to download a program called "Lame" to be able to export it to a folder on my desktop.

OK--but now I want to insert the edited sound file into an existing power point slide program. I am unable to do so.

Does anyone know how I can convert (or re-name or whatever) my "Audacity Project File" into some format which can be added to a power point slide show?

Thank you for any help you can give me.

Julie

According to this...

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/power ... px#BMsound

... you can use any WAV sound file which means you didn't need the MP3 software. Audacity exports WAV from your open Project naturally.

File > Export > WAV (Microsoft) 16-bit PCM
