Can this be done using Audacity..?
I have done a brief search & can't find any relevant info.. i have several live music mp3's which have a lot of audience chatter/applause which i would like to remove or at the very least significantly reduce, without affecting the quality/volume of the recording too much.. is this possible?
I am completely new to Audacity so please go easy on the terminology.
Thanks.

Re: Removing specific (unwanted) sounds..?
If the unwanted sounds occur at different times from the wanted sounds, you can use the Envelope Tool: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Envelope_Tool
If both wanted and unwanted sounds occur at the same time then you probably can't significantly reduce one without a lot of damage to the other.
