Adding song "breaks" so Itunes can see individual songs?

Sorry if this topic has been discussed, but once I have created an MP3 file from a vinyl album is there a way to add "breaks/identifiers" between songs so that Itunes will identify individual songs within the album (so I can shuffle between songs, not just whole albums) AND still recognize the songs as having come from the same album?

You can add "Labels" at the beginning of each song on the timeline - Control-B. You can throw words inside each label as you make them. Be sure and label the first song. Everybody always leaves that one out.

Then, instead of Exporting your music, you can Export Multiple and Audacity will make a pile of music files according to your label positions. If you pull that pile into an iTunes Playlist (not just iTunes), iTunes will keep track of the music as if it came from one album -- and you can rearrange the music within the playlist as you see fit. You don't have to stick with the order on the vinyl.

If you make a Music CD, you need to know that Music CDs do not carry song titles.

By the way, I wouldn't automatically create MP3 files form your vinyl. If you want to create an archive of the work (separate from iTunes), do it in WAV format. You can successfully compress WAV down to MP3, AAC, M4A, etc as needed. Once you create a compressed MP3, it's permanently damaged and you can't back up and create any of the other formats.
