navigating to 'my computer' always freezes Audacity

every time I navigate to 'my computer' so I can save the project as on a flash drive as soon as I click the 'my computer' icon, Audacity will freeze and I am forced to bring up task manager and kill the Audacity process! sometimes my project is recovered sometimes it isn't. but every time I go into 'my computer' using Audacity, it will freeze! I tried restarting the computer, did not fix it! I am using Audacity 1.13-beta (unicode)

Which version of Windows are you using?

I presume that you mean 1.3.13 beta (Unicode).
You could try updating to 1.3.14 beta (Unicode) : http://audacityteam.org/download/

Where are you clicking on "My Computer" - in "Save Project As..." in Audacity?

Are the flash drive or other drives accessible? What happens if you try to access My Computer in Windows Explorer?
