Ok, so I downloaded Audacity correctly and I'm looking forward to using it. However, When I press the record button I get the following message: "Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate." It will not let me record anything until I do this task. However, I have no idea how to do this task. If anyone can please give me a clear and descriptive (maybe even a step by step) way of fixing this problem, I will be very pleased.

Just some riffs I wrote on my guitar...then again, I haven't plugged it in yet because I figured, why bother plugging in my whole rig if it doesn't work when I press the record button?

If you're using Vista or Win 7, the recording input is probably disabled until you plug something in.
