no sound when recoding from youtube

I'm not sure whats wrong I followed the tutorial on youtibe but when I try and record its just balnk, also I dont have the stero mix setting in the drop down menu, is this located somewhere else in the bete version

"Stereo Mix" is often unavailable or hidden on modern Windows operating systems (Vista/7).
See here for how to make the option visible if it is hidden, or for possible workarounds if it is unavailable on your machine.
