Using a Samson Go Mic to Record

I have verified with myself that I do have Audacity 1.3.x Beta and I have Windows 7, just to let all of you know. I have also checked other posts for information regarding my experience and have not come across any.
I just recently purchased the Samson Go Mic, which I do love, btw. I do not think that the issue lies with this little device, though.
I am trying to record my vocals over the instrumental to a song I want to sing. The song is an .MP3 file split into two stereo tracks and I have done this successfully in the past using the internal microphone installed in my computer with the same version of Audacity and all of the same circumstances (obviously without the Samson Go Mic). However, now that I open it and try to record it using the Samson Go Mic, I cannot hear the MP3 tracks...I find that strange because when I just play the MP3 tracks, I can hear them fine.
Any suggests? Please help!
