I tried today to record from Last.fm, I got a very low volume recording. I checked the items quoted above but my Gateway machine has on board Sigma-Tel audio and doesn't offer the "mix" option. I would have to do some fancy connections to use loop back, I have sound in and out to a Technics amp with a Technics turntable for playing vinyl and KEF speakers; any othe suggestions?.

What options does it have?
Which version of Windows?
Is there a "Sigma-Tel" mixer panel?
If you're using Vista or Win 7, have you tried showing disabled and disconnected devices in the Windows Control Panel?

The options are line in and front or rear mics.
WinXP SP3
The Sigma Tel mixer has same options line & mics
I've emailed Gateway to check if there are any new drivers, still waiting response!
The PC is a Gateway GT5042b, purchased 2007, dual core pentium, 4Gb ram, 160 & 80 Gb HDDs
