Hi
When I press the record button on Audacity there is a strange booming noise which cancels out any chance of making a recording. i have re-installed audacity and also tried with and without my turntable connected . Is it something to do with my computer. Thanks in anticipation of your help.

Re: Strange noise
Hi
I,ve solved the strange noise problem. After giving it some serious thought I realised that every time I unplugged my turntable it altered the settings in preferences. Hence when I plugged the turn table back in I have to go back into preferences /recordings and altered the device input. ( Does that sound right) anyway it works fine again now.

Re: Strange noise
Glad that you've got it fixed.
Probably the best way to "reconnect" Audacity to the USB turntable is:
1) Transport menu > Rescan Audio Devices
2) Then use the Device Toolbar to select the USB turntable.
