I split this from http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 16&t=62328.jerryp wrote:I am running a mic and guitar through an external mixer and then line level out through an "ICICLE" into a USB. (Win 7 32 bit)
Please help us by starting a new topic with a meaningful subject like the one I provided for you.
Is this the "Icicle" you have:
http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Microphones- ... B001EW5YQS ?
That does not have a line-in, only an XLR input?
To record from a USB device you should begin by seeing if it is recognised by Windows. Does it appear in the "Recording" tab in "Sound" in the Windows Control Panel?
If so, launch Audacity again then select Icicle as recording device in Preferences and set your built-in sound device as playback device.
