i have problem with my new out mixer.
till now i worked with the analog sound card, now i add an out mixer with usb card.
why cant i work with the usb and the analog together?
i tried to change in the audio i/o but the audacity say that the play card and the record card should be the same.

Re: usb and analog
Many computers and Audacity only know about one sound device at a time. On some machines you can combine two USB devices in the "Aggregate" service, but the two devices you use should match, like two USB microphones.

Re: usb and analog
You should be able to split different inputs and outputs -- record from the USB and play to the analog.. You can select that in the Windows control panels and then in Audacity 1.3 preferences. You may need to restart Audacity for the settings to work.
The USB device must be plugged in and working before you start Audacity.

That functionality is not built into Windows, only Mac and Linux.kozikowski wrote:On some machines you can combine two USB devices in the "Aggregate" service,
What was the exact error message?106fm wrote:i tried to change in the audio i/o but the audacity say that the play card and the record card should be the same.
Audacity 1.3.13 IS able to record from one device and playback on another.
As Koz wrote, USB devices should be connected before Audacity is opened. You can then use the Device Toolbar to select the recording and playback devices.
