I've been using Audacity 1.3 to convert some LPs (remember those?) to digital. I am finding, however, that sparse or low tones - such as in Opera, or The Moody Blues, well, the digitized versions sort of skip along jarringly...sometimes. Yet, when I record non-sparse music, Bob Dylan's Highway 61, or the such, perfect. Right now the default settings state that recording projects have a "Project Rate" of 44,100 Hz... whatever that means. If I adjust this down, will I get a better digitized copy? Or are there other ways to ensure a clean copy? BTW, the record player is awesome and this is not the issue, I assure you. It's in the beta, or at least the software operator (me) attempting to use it. Any suggestions?
