Stop recording

I am using windows 7 X64. When I installed the software everything went well an I recorded two LP'S from my USB turntable with no problem. When I started to record the 3rd LP the program would not record nor could I hear the audio from the LP. As I try to record i hear chirps and other sound effects. I uninstalled the program, re-downloaded the software and set it up as described in the instructions. Still have same problem. Also I cannot record using the microphone.

Have you any suggestions

Instead of reinstalling Audacity I suggest you check the USB cable for tightness (or replace it) then reboot the computer with the turntable switched on and connected to the computer. Make sure you are still selecting "USB Audio CODEC" as input device in Audacity's Device Toolbar. Also make sure you connect the turntable to a spare USB port, not a hub. Choose the microphone as input device in Audacity's Device Toolbar. If the microphone is not listed, please enable it in "Sound" in the Windows Control Panel by following these instructions:
