Recording Multi Channels

Hi,
I do alot of live recording for plays and musicals so going in and recording each person one at a time isn't really an option. I am currently just going straight from my BEHRINGER 1222FX into the xlr mic ports on my canon XLH1 and record stereo, with music on the left and microphones on the right. However i would like to start having the audio straight to my computer on multiple channels so i have more control when editing. I have been trying to find hardware that would allow me to go straight from the BEHRINGER 1222FX to my computer however have not been successful. I have a Windows 7 operated computer and a Linux operated computer compatability isn't a big issue. If you have any ideas of what i can do or have any suggestions regarding equipment please let me know.
thanks
