What is the "song sound"?
Do you have a backing track that you want to use? If so, what format is it?

There's a better way.

1) Import the MP3 (File menu)
2) Check that "Overdub" is enabled (selected) and "Software Playthrough" is disabled (NOT selected) (both in the Transport menu)
3) When you start recording you should be able to hear the backing track in your headphones (You MUST use headphones rather than speakers so as to avoid the microphone picking up the sound a second time).

This will record the vocal on a second track and the two tracks will be mixed together when you Export a WAV file at the end.
