deletion problems
Im trying to delete portions of a voice track, but when I replay the section, portions before and after the deleted area are silent What might be causing this?
Re: deletion problems
Does the track play correctly before you delete the section?

Re: deletion problems
Yes, it sounds great before and after I undo the edit attempts I have even made a sound test to see if I could delete portions of the sound check. I can delete the sound check with no problems, but the track with the audio I want to edit is giving me the problems.
Re: deletion problems
How many audio tracks are there in the project?

Re: deletion problems
ONe right now, but I want to add some intro music. I added the intro music, then tried to edit the voice track. When I tried to use the fade command it didn't seem to work right either. I deleted the music track to make the changes I needed on the voice track, and have had problems ever since.
Re: deletion problems
I assume that you have Saved the project already, if not, do that now.
Export the track as a 32-bit WAV file
File > Export,
then select "Other uncompressed file types" as the file type
then click on the "Options" button and select "WAV" as the header and "32 bit float" as the encoding.
Close and restart Audacity.
Import the file that you have just exported.
File > Import
Check that it plays correctly.
Are you now able to edit the track correctly?
