Audacity does not record speaker

Hey guys, for some reason on my WIN7 Ultimate Audacity stops recording sounds other than voices, we have stand up comedy sessions at our home and while the recordings take place we give advice, Audacity starts recording what happens over the speakers of my pc but fades out and then its all silent, sounds i make get recorded ... i turn the sound of the speakers full and while the neighbours complain Audacity only records tap noises on the speakers or my voice .. the rest it shuts out even if we both are in front of the speakers ... like in 1 cm close ... what is that that does this ? please help
