System: Windows 7. Audacity Version: 1.3x (beta)
After recording my song on a multitrack digital recorder and converting to a .wav file; I am receiving some distortion on certain parts of the song when editing the song through Audacity. The parts that are slightly distorted, are the Harmonizing sections. It appears as I kicked on the harmonizer I was a little too close to the mic, or my settings on the harmonizer should have been more conservative.
I have attempted to edit and fix using the EFFECT > Amplify feature but have not had any success. It lowers the volume but not the harshness or the distortion.
The L and R top tabs 'output level meter' shows blue tinge at the end, but as soon as the song hits the harmonizer, the level meters go right up and the end of the 'L' and 'R' meter, has a slight blue and Red tinge to it. So I am definitely crossing the Red Max Level that I should not be hitting.
Any suggestions ? Thanks

Re: slight Distortion on Harmonizing
Overload, smashing and clipping are pretty much permanent performers in your show. That and echoes are all but impossible to remove. You can try Effect > Clip Fix. If you don't have that tool, I may need to go search for it. Clip Fix is one of the tools that gets your hopes up, but rarely works well.
Conservative recording and paying close attention to your recording meters/overload lights are all really good things.

Koz,
thanks for the suggestion on 'Clip-fix', which I tried but did not seem to work in this case. I did however use 'Normalize' which appeared to help a little.
thanks
