Hello,
I use Audacity 1.3 to Record directly from my Laptop, which is Windows 7. I use it to record DJ mixes using Virtual DJ.
This had been working perfectly until today, no all of a sudden it doesn't recognise any sound. I've followed all troubleshooting guides as I did when originally using Audacity but no joy.
Any ideas? I'm pulling what little hair I have out as I need to record something before tomorrow night.
Cheers

I presume that you had Audacity set to record from "Stereo Mix"?
Is that option still available?

Steve,
It is set to record from Stereo Mix. It was fine Wednesday but tried it again today and it's picking up nothing.
I just can't work out what it is.

Please show us images of the "Playback" and "Recording" tabs of "Sound" in the Windows Control Panel. You can use "Upload attachment" underneath the message "Preview/Submit" buttons to do that.
If you can't hear the audio, stereo mix won't record it.

There is no audio visible in the meters to right of "Stereo Mix" and "Speakers".
Right-click over the "Stereo Mix" > Properties, click "Levels" and turn the slider up. Do the same for "Speakers". Make sure neither is muted.

Thanks Gail, that's sorted it.
I really appreciate your help.
