Selection Tool Increments?

Hi I'm new to Audacity, but I successfully edited my first radio show using Audacity - removing ums, and ahs etc. Now I'm editing another file and I can't edit out exactly what I want. The selection tool now only wants to highlight in 1 second increments. I'm sure there's an easy solution, but I've looked everywhere and can't figure it out. Thanks for your help.

You have inadvertently selected "Snap To". Look near the bottom of the main Audacity window and untick "Snap To".
