Client fils too hot

Post by Rickvid » Wed Nov 02, 2011 12:53 am

My client is revising a presentation by re-recording new narrative sound files. Both the old and new are far too hot; he uses a very cheap set up in a conference room at work. I will try to get him to let me re-record the audio, however until then, how can I reduce the levels from his original .wav files before I insert them into the presentation? Many thanks!

You can reduce the level using the Amplify effect, but if the audio has been recorded too hot then it will be distorted (clipped) and if the distortion is bad enough that it sounds distorted then it can't be fixed.
