Here's what I'm looking to do.

I have a USB Pre-Amp and a Condenser Mic, but whenever I talk into the Mic, I get this loud wah-wah sound down on the Bass level of the recording. I figured out that I can remove that by running it through a high pass filter, but if I do too much of that, then it sounds like AM Radio. The problem I have is that I don't want to have to run a High Pass Filter every time I finish a recording. Is there anything I can set or adjust to compensate for that heavy bass? Or will I just have to record, edit, record, edit, every time I finish speaking into the Mic?

Audacity does not apply any effects or do much of anything in real time. It records, plays and has some alarm/timer functions. That's it.

So your computer is doing this.

You should inspect and remove conferencing services. Windows comes out of the box all set to do Skype and other conferencing jobs. This usually messes with live recording.

The other thing that can mess you up is the Internet Recording service. If you like to record YouTube, you'll need to turn those settings off to make a live recording.

I don't know that we have a good wiki on turning it off, but here's suggestions on how to turn it on to give you an idea.

No. you should not need to apply effects, patches, and repairs to a simple recording for it to sound good.
