corrupted files on export?

I'm using Win 7 64 bit, and Audacity 1.3.13 beta Unicode. It was fine for several months. Then suddenly, the audio files I edit and export seem to be corrupted. They will burn to CD but will not play on any player except the computer CD drive. I uninstalled and reinstalled audacity. No change. Any ideas? Thanks.

There are two ways to burn a CD. A Data CD which is a flat, shiny computer hard drive, and a Music CD which is a very special format to intentionally hold music. It's the same physical disk. You burned the wrong one. Pay attention to the burning or authoring step. Most times they will give you instructions which format you're burning.

I would suspect the problem is either, you're making data disks rather than audio disks, or you are exporting from Audacity in a format that is not supported by your CD burning software.
Check that the "Project Rate" (lower left corner of Audacity) is set to 44100 before you export, then Export as 16 bit WAV.
There's also a tutorial about making audio CDs that goes into all of the details:
