Hi
I imported a mp3 file named "s" and did some other recordings to it and exported it as mp3 to the same file "s"
Now the file "S" has only the recording and not contain the original music that was in "S".
How can i get back the original music in the "S" file? Please help

We warn people constantly never to step on original work by using the same filename. Windows has a nasty habit of hiding file extensions from you to "help you." You see the original file as "s," but I bet the original file was really named s.mp3. When you Exported s.mp3, Windows obediently obliterated the original file -- and the original music.

Depending on your Windows, you may be able to "Step Back" or whatever Windows calls it to get the original file back. Restore Point?

You can set Windows to show you file extensions so this doesn't happen again.

Hidden File Extensions
-- Start > My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > [ ] Hide Extensions for Known File Types (deselect)
-- Apply (to this folder) or Apply to All Folders
-- OK

Whenever you do production, choose different filenames as you go. Everybody has their own technique for this. Sometimes I use music1, music2, music3. At work, if the music is to be used by several different people, we use date and time. 201110030815. That seems complicated, but it's really 2011 10 03 (October Third) 0815 (eight fifteen in 24-hour time). Today about a minute ago.

Don't use regular dates in your filenames. 10/3/11. Windows hates slashmarks in filenames and can damage your file. Don't use colons either. Upper and lower case letters, numbers, dash and underscore only.

What was the show? Why are you editing the music?
