Confirm LOF import working on 1.3.13?

I can't seem to get Audacity (WIN) to import my LOF list. I've done this before on my mac and loved it.

Can anyone confirm that it IS working on the current beta release?

I tested it recently on 1.3.14 alpha on Windows 7 so I see no reason it should not work in 1.3.13 Beta.

Please try the tips here:
http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/LOF_Files

If it does not work please give an exact example of a lof file that does not import correctly and state what version of Windows you are using (for example, Windows 7 64-bit).

I'm on Win 7 64bit SP1 6.1.7601

I have the following .LOF file, when I drag it into Audacity, or select "import>Audio|List of files" it just sits there. I recall the version on mac populated each track in a multitrack with the proper files as expected.

Code: Select all

file "G:iTunesMusicThe Left RightsBad Choices Made Easy\02 I'm On Crack.mp3"
file "G:iTunesMusicUnknown ArtistUnknown AlbumWJLB.wav"
file "G:iTunesMusicDas RacistRelax\05 Girl.mp3"

Just tried a LOF file in 1.3.13 on Win 7 x64 and it worked fine.

There is nothing syntactically wrong with the content of the LOF file as I can see. Have you looked in Help > Show Log to see if there are any errors? Is drive G: available? Does the path "iTunesMusic" on it exist?

Does it make any difference if you reduce the number of files in the list?

No errors in the log file. It thinks it's doing something, but it doesn't give the expected result.
Paths are correct.
Doesn't matter how many entries are listed as long as there's more than one.

Code: Select all

23:44:12: File name is c:users~~~USER~~~desktopj3 2.lof
23:44:12: Mime type is *
23:44:12: Opening with libsndfile
23:44:12: Opening with liboggvorbis
23:44:12: Opening with libflac
23:44:12: Opening with lof
23:44:12: Opening with libav
23:44:12: Open(c:usershairchalicedesktopj3 2.lof) succeeded
If there's only one line, I do get the error:

Code: Select all

23:45:06: File name is c:users~~~USER~~~desktopj3 2 - copy.lof
23:45:06: Mime type is *
23:45:06: Opening with libsndfile
23:45:06: Opening with liboggvorbis
23:45:06: Opening with libflac
23:45:06: Opening with lof
23:45:06: Opening with libav
23:45:06: Error: FFmpeg : av_find_stream_info() failed for file C:Users~~~USER~~~DesktopJ3 2 - Copy.LOF
23:45:06: Error: Importer::Import: Opening failed.
But it's utterly pointless to open an LOF file with only one entry anyway.

Opening the LOF is just the first stage before Audacity goes through the list of importers to "open" the listed files. For example if the file paths were wrong you would see just the log message that the LOF succeeded but you also would see "can't open" message box errors for each file as well. Do I take it you don't see any message box errors?

So in that case we apparently don't get as far as opening the LOF file to find out what audio file it contains.

Can you post the contents of that "j3 2 - copy.lof"?

Do any of the files listed in your long LOF file import if you drag those files into Audacity? What about the file in "j3 2 - copy.lof"?
