ok steve
i listened bk to what i recorded and i used the effect normalize to -1 to avoid clipping
and The Bars Are equal now but is it ok to normalize
does normalizing effect the audio (Loss In Sound) etc?
i would just like to be able to listen to the vinyl, while recording it with this new set-up
any ideas?

How much are we talking about?
If the turntable is set up well there should not be much difference - personally I'd not worry about it if the channels are within about 1 dB, but 6 dB difference is a bit excessive.

If the Audacity track is "32-bit (float)" format, then there is virtually no loss in sound quality through Normalizing or Amplifying.

The current set-up is just for testing, so that we can get the vinyl recording quality as good as possible.
If you are happy with the sound quality (and left/right balance) with this temporary set-up then we can move on and connect up the rest of your gear.
Are you happy so far?
Tell me about your DJ'ing.
Do you use the Technics 1200 in your DJ'ing? Any other sound sources? Vocals? Other decks? I'm not really familiar with Tracktor so you'll need to spell it out to me in simple terms what you use, how it needs to be set up and what you do with it.

i am happy enough with this set-up steve
the recording is fine and the 2 channels are equal...
i want to hear the vinyl while recording
as i am not using the mixer no more,i cant hear the vinyl playback while recording...
other than that, all is fine steve....
i can use the mixer while djing of course, but for recording my vinyl collection,i will do this set-up without the mixer as everything seems fine other than the playback

This should be straightforward then.
How do you usually listen to music? Do you have an amp and speakers? Would you prefer to listen through headphones or speakers?
Whichever, you need to connect the Line Out from the back of the Numark to whatever you want to play through. For example if you have an amp and speakers then connect the outputs on the back of the Numark to a pair of inputs on your amp. If you want to listen through headphones you could connect the outputs on the Numark to inputs on your mixer, then plug your headphones into the mixer.

Have you turned the volume up on the side of the Numark?
You may also have to enable "Software Playthrough" in Audacity (near the bottom of the Transport menu).

hook your turntable direct to your audio interface (Phono) Input: (Numark In My Case) Dont Connect Your Mixer...
That Sorted Out The Level Issue For Me (2 Bars Are Equal Now) Both Channels Are The Same
Audicity Option (Transport:Software Playthrough On) Able To Listen To Play While Recording (Line In Via Your Mixer)
All Is Good:
Ready To Record MyVinyl Collection:
