Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

I have been using Audacity for 9 months and love it- but I've been off it for 2 months. Now when I try to save my file it tells me I can't because I'm not the administrator. What has happened? I went into it's properties and reentered as administrator and it still gives me the same pop-up. Help! I have a time-line on getting things done!! :?

I'm not one of the Windows elves, but the words are forcing themselves past my lips: When was the last time you did a comprehensive virus scan? The long one where you can't use your machine for a while, not the wimpy one that runs in the background.

Microsoft has an on-line one that you can use as a cross-check for your normal one.

Why did you leave Audacity for months? What was the computer doing while you did that?

Try to Export as WAV instead of Saving.

Where were you trying to save the project? (does your user account have write permissions for that location?)
