I'm trying to record my drums using Audacity but it seems as if there is a very weak signal when i try to play it back. The waves (dB range?) is smaller than expected, and it's quiet in my headphones.
I'm using a Behringer XENYX X2442USB mixer and everything is working okay on that end. When plug the headphones into the phones output on the mixer it is much louder than what I'm hearing in Audacity. I'm new to recording so I'm not sure if this is a software problem, computer setting, or even where to begin?
Any help is much appreciated!

Re: recording drums with usb mixer
Could you Export a short sample of a recording as a WAV file and upload it to the Internet somewhere for us to hear.

Re: recording drums with usb mixer
Okay I've got a few seconds recorded as a WAV file, how do I get it on the internet? I'm a huge noob to this, but that's what you get when you ask a drummer to be a tech guy! (lol) Also I found a way to get it slightly louder by turning up my gain on all the mic inputs until theyre practically peaking, but is there still anyway i can turn the volume up on the playback? My computer volume is maxed out and i can still get music and youtube videos to play louder than my Audacity recordings. Is this just normal for recording instruments? Thanks for the help!

If it's only a few seconds then you should be able to attach it directly to your post. See the "Upload Attachment" tab below the compose message box.rhdrums wrote:how do I get it on the internet?
