Audacity Forum

I am using Windows XP Professional and Audacity 1.2 software. I downloaded Lame for Windows software from this site. The problem that i am having is that I can hear while recording and playback in Audacity ,but when I export the file to MP3 and try to play it in any other media player ,I can't hear anything. The players appear to be playing the recording ,but there is no audible. I even tried to burn the file and it appears that it burned, but when I play back the disk there is no sound. Help!!! I can't think of what I am doing wrong.....Thanks for your consideration.

I'd highly recommend that you upgrade to Audacity 1.3.13, but I doubt that will cure this problem.
What are you recording with? Is it a USB device?
Look in the bottom left corner of the main Audacity window, what is the "Project Rate" set at?

I am using a USB Cassette Capture Device By "ezcap", but I figure out that the "Audacity" software and USB device had an exclusive hold on my sound card. When I played the cd, that I could not hear on my PC, on another cd player and laptop the cd played fine. Thank you for your quick response and I hope that this helps others.

Yes that's what usually happens with USB devices - but you can reset Audacity to leave the input sound targertted on your USB device and change the output sound to be targetted on your on-board soundcard. See this article from the manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Reco ... turntables
