Hi guys,
I´m new to Audacity...... I´m trying to record my voice and no matter what I do the microphone levels don´t change. I chose the right device in Preferences, and tried to adjust the inputo volume slider to adjusto the input level meter, but the level meter does not change when I change the volume. I tried not using my mic and testing this with the build in microphone and get the same distortion.
Please help, I don´t know what I´m doing wrong, I´m on Windows Vista.

Are you sure you're using Audacity 1.3? The much older Audacity 1.2 could have problems like this.

You get good recordings, but the microphone slider volume control seems to not do anything? You want to change volume because you're too low or too high (I know it's an odd question).
