Windows XP, Audacity 1.3.x(Beta) -- Generate > Silence is gummed up.
The field is filled with impossible numbers (like -48 d, -50 h), and cannot be edited.

What format are you exporting to?
How are you looking at the data?
How are you trying to "edit" the file?
Are you sure you are not looking at the file header? What "field"?
