Hi,
I'm very new to Audacity. I'm currently using an Alesis IO2 to convert music I recorded in the 90's from a DAT player to my PC. Most songs have converted nicely but one song starts with quite a prominant bass line. When I play back there is a metailc buzzing sound behind the bass. I have no idea why this is happening. Can anyone help?
Thanks

Re: Recording from DAT
It's probably recorded too loud, or you are playing it through speakers/headphones that cannot handle that amount of bass.
How tall is the waveform on the track compared to the track height? If it is touching the top or bottom of the track then you are recording too loud and that is causing distortion.
