Stereo mix not working properly on 1.3.13

I just downloaded what I thought was a new version of the beta 1.3. I had 1.3.12 and now it is 1.3.13. I am running on 32 bit windows 7. Pluging turntable into Line input into back of computer. I am using audacity to record vinyl to cds. whenever I hit pause or stop etc the next recording has no left channel even though all settings indicate I am recording in stereo. the left channel appears but is flat lined and playback is only on right. I have to delete the program and reinstall to get both channels back but as soon as I pause or stop the left chanel is out again and cannot be reset. I have gone thru all your tutorials and have checked and double checked my settings on sounds etc and I do not think there is an issue with my computer. If I had not downloaded the "new"version I do not think I would be having this issue. I have read some similar posts but I have not seen a solution from you yet. Thanks

I very much doubt that the cause of the problem is due to the updated version of Audacity, even though there is some circumstantial evidence suggesting that it is.

What sort of leads/connectors/adaptors are you using to connect the turntable to your sound card? If you're not sure exactly what they are called, have a look on Google and see if you can find some pictures of similar types.

this is what I am using on connection to turntable. if they were bad they would not work on the initial recording when I down load audacity. does not make sense that when I hit pause or stop with no other changes to recording that I lose the left channel.

OK, don't change anything else, but (I guess the 2 RCA male plugs are connected to the turntable?) Swap around the two RCA plugs so that the left goes into the right and vice verse. Then make a test recording. What happens?

10-4 we are on the same quest here. I reversed the cables before I got your reply and sure enough the left channel is working and the right is down when swapped around. I either have a bad mini jack cable or the input jack on my desk top is defective. I will buy a cheap mini adapter from radio shack tomorrow and see if same problem exists. if so my dell probably has a dead left channel in the jack input. thanks for your help - I will let you know results
