Can't seem to save whole recording

Can't seem to save whole recording

I am new at this, but have been trying to save a recording, and it doesn't seem to save the whole recording, just bits and pieces of it. What am I doing wrong?

Audacity doesn't Save sound files. To get a real sound file you have to Export one. If you need an MP3 file, you also need extra software for that.
