Quite the unique problem...

Post by DarkKnight387 » Tue Aug 30, 2011 2:30 am

Hello, I have a bit of an interesting problem and I haven't seen any of this question in the FAQ's so here it goes... whenever I save a recording I make with "file, save project as" ya know how it works, but when i do that, it saves the project as 2 things. A file: [Whatever I name it]_Data, and an Adobe reader file... that's really strange and for some reason it just won't save it as just an audacity file that I can just open up and listen to! it's frustrating and I've already tried reinstalling it, and that doesn't work either... I'll keep trying things that I think of, but until I find a solution, thanks for the help ;)

There's really no such thing as "an Audacity File". Audacity creates "Audacity Projects" which have two parts - the .AUP file and the data folder. See here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Audacity_Projects

It doesn't save and Audacity project, it only saves the _data file and an Adobe reader page

Read the page linked in my last post. You'll get nowhere 'till you do that.
The file is not an Acrobat file, it's the Audacity project file (it has an .AUP etension, not a .PDF extension)
