Thanks to you all for your help in my frustration with this thing!
"Wax" after reading your last suggestion on checking the leads (which I had done previously) it suddenly dawn on me by looking @ the cartridge that there was only 3 leads & I thought then it strange, the old 5 pin din plugs had 5 for stereo 2 L & 2 R with a common.
I also tried it in my 5.1 & it confirmed your thoughts & suggestions only one channel is working, so it has now been packed & returned to the supplier for a replacement unit & am told should the new unit also be faulty ( I get the dodgy ones) I will be sent a refund.
Again many thanks for your help & patience to you & Steve with this problem, & if you don't mind I'll let you know if the new unit is OK when it gets here.
