Audacity Froze While Saving

As the title says, Audacity froze when I tried to save. Knowing that my file probably hadn't saved, I reopened Audacity so that the recovery prompt would come up.
However, there was no prompt, which make me think that the recording actually was saved and is somewhere on my computer. But I can't find a file with the name that I chose.
Also, it appears as though the temporary folder for audacity is empty.
Any suggestions? =(

Using Windows Vista.

Which exact version of Audacity? (look in "Help about Audacity").
Try searching for ".au" files - these are the data files that should be in the Project data folder.

Audacity 1.3 Beta. I did a search for .au files but only old stuff came up.

I also looked here:
C:Users<user name>AppDataLocalTempaudacity_1_2_temp
but found nothing...

Hmm, not looking good.
What sort of project were you working on at the time? Was is a recording (for example a microphone recording) or were you editing file(s) that you had imported?

How much free disk space is there on your C: drive?
Were you trying to save to the C: drive or another drive?

When you say you saved, were you using File > Save to save a project, or using File > Export to export an audio file?

If you were saving a project, is there an .aup file corresponding to the time you saved?

Is C:Users<user name>AppDataLocalTempaudacity_1_2_temp your temporary directory for 1.3? You can check at Edit > Preferences: Directories.

It would be very odd for the .au files to disappear. Sometimes the .aup file disappears as it's written last. Did you include hidden folders in your search for .au files?
