Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Recovery problem

Post by Chris3356 » Fri Aug 12, 2011 11:17 am

Hey, I have Audacity 1.3.13 Beta on Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

I had a rather important and large project I was working on. My laptop came unplugged while I was working on it without my notice and my computer shut down after about an hour (really power intensive laptop). This has happened to me before, and audacity crash recovery saves my project without any issues. However this time, when I rebooted it, and clicked "Recover Projects", I got the following dialog box:

"Audacity did not recognize the type of the file 'C:UsersChrisAppDataRoamingAudacityAutoSaveNew Project - 2011-08-12 06-34-54 N-420.autosave'. If it is uncompressed, try importing it using "Import Raw".

The file isn't corrupted, it just isn't being recognized by Audacity, even though earlier today the autosave feature worked perfectly fine.

Can someone help me get it to load?

Thanks :)

I would say the autosave file has become corrupted. Did you edit it?

It depends how corrupted it is. Please attach the autosave file using "Upload attachment" underneath the message "Preview/Submit" buttons.
