Making radio edits of songs

Hello I am new to this program and I am using it to create clean versions (radio edits) of songs. When I download the song and put it in audacity, I either use reverse on the offensive words (does not sound good for some words" or 'Vocal Remover" which can sometimes sound good, but most times it muffles the music as well. But I would rather download the acapella (version with only vocals), remove the offensive words, then combine it with the instrumental. Problem is I cannot figure out how to do this correctly. I tried "import", but "import audio" is not clickable, and "import raw data" doesn't help because even if both instumental and cleaned acapella are together, it still plays only the instrumental. Help anyone?

The only legitimate reason File > Import > Audio (or other items in the Import sub-menu) should be greyed out would be if you were playing, pausing or recording. Press the yellow Stop button.

There should be no need to import RAW data unless the acapella really is a headerless file or its headers are invalid. Importing a valid headered file with Import RAW will produce a click at the start of the track.

If both tracks in the projects are not playing, unmute the track that isn't playing or unsolo the one that is.
