Ways to change voice as much as possible without distorting?

Post by thesevensparks » Sun Aug 07, 2011 10:37 pm

Hey,

I'm trying to play a prank on my friend, which requires my voice sounding entirely different. He's known me many years, so a simple pitch-change won't do, but the pitch change is the only effect I can find that changes my voice without making it sound distorted. Does anyone have other suggestions that I probably just missed? Thanks!

Why not get another friend to help you? (someone whose voice will not be recognised)

Voice Changing is over 80% acting. Even if we did have enough tools to push your voice around, the way you pause between your phrases and other mannerisms will kill you instantly.

People can recognize you even through a terrible, bubbly phone call. "Steven? Listen, I can't understand you, we got a terrible connection, try calling back."

Hah. Yeah, that seems about right. I tried a bit of acting, but it still seemed pretty obvious. Was hoping the computer could do some magic for me, but c'est la vie.
