Hi, I am using headphones only with Audacity v1.3.13,... if I want to record all sounds from computer, I must unplug headphones and set:
audio host: DirectSound
Output device: Speakers Creative SB X-Fi (not connected) or Speakers 2 - USB PnP Sound Device (connected to my keyboard while not recording)
Input device: "What U Hear" (Creative SB X-Fi)
Then it will record any sound in computer, but only if I unplug headphones. Is there a way to skip unplug of headphones while recording?
I Tryed program "All Sound Recorder Vista" and it does record... not need to unplug headphones, just set Record Source From: "What U Hear" (Creative SB X-Fi).
Using Win7 with Creative SB X-Fi.
Recording "What U Hear" from headphones?

Re: Recording "What U Hear" from headphones?
Do the headphones connect to the computer via USB? These would then be a separate playback device. You can't then record stereo mix in Audacity because the sound being captured by SoundBlaster's What U Hear" has to be playing on the SoundBlaster device.
If "All Sound Recorder Vista" works around this then it's probably sending the audio to SoundBlaster in some way. Audacity cannot do this itself.
