Audacity 1.3 Beta

Two installs of 1.3 Bet on XP Prof, and both times it crashes immediately on launch - puts PC into a re-start.
Installed on 2nd m/c running Win 7 and no probs.
Running Firefox on both m/cs, AVG on crash m/c, & Bullguard on other. Any ideas?

Audacity and many other similar production programs use all the memory. If you have a bad memory stick in high memory, you may never know unless you try to Gaussian Blur a Photoshop picture, Render a fade in Premiere, or launch Audacity.
Microsoft makes a dandy memory checker -- free.

Run it multiple times -- or when you go to bed. I bet it doesn't run -- even once.
I'm assuming you looked at your hard drive and at least half of it is empty and thoroughly defragmented. There isn't much that can reduce a computer to boot. That's pretty serious.
