No sound in PC whatsoever after installing 1.3.13

Like the title said. I was was playing music from youtube while installing the newest beta audacity. Suddenly music stopped and I cannot make sound work anymore. Also Audacity is very slow and it takes minutes to simple things like clicking OK on preferences. I guess I should uninstall and go back to old audacity? Will that fix the missing sound?

Win XP home SP3 with SB Live! sound card. Nothing is muted in the play controls and never had a problem like this before as my PC is very stable with no software or hardware issues.

Have you plugged in any USB devices?

Never mind, works next day after a restart.
I'm thinking the audacity installation instructions should be revised to advise users to restart PC after installation (like in the old days).

Audacity makes no changes whatever to system files that requires a reboot to overwrite them.
