High pitched squeal

I tried to record a meeting at work. I had a 2.5 hour file that was done before lunch and a 3 hour file that was done after lunch. I exported both files to MP3. The first file sounds fine. The last file is 3 hours of a high pitched squeal. Any ideas on what could have caused this and is there any hope of saving the file? Thanks in advance for your help.

Let's nail this down a bit. You recorded the first "show" and Saved it as an Audacity Project. Then you started Audacity fresh and recorded the second show and saved that as a Project. OK, so far?
So now you have two AUP files and associated _data folders, etc.
Open the first one and export as WAV. Close the Audacity window. Open the second one. Does it play OK before you export?
Do you like to record YouTube or other internet sound on this machine? You may have left the machine in Stereo Mix instead of straight recording which would have recorded unstable sound or possibly feedback. eeeeEEEEEEEE.

When you start these recordings, what do you do to make sure you're getting a good show in Audacity?
