I can't seem to set the recording input levels on Audacity to the right level. The sound is completely distorted & even though i know it's something simple, i just can't work out what to do to have it at the right level. I've searched on youtube & other sites online for how to fix my problem but can't seem to get any satisfaction. I set it up through a tutorial on youtube 1st day & i've done everything advised but am missing just this 1 thing. Can someone please tell me what to do as it's driving me mad...
Thanks in advance.
Help PLEASE!!!!

Re: Help PLEASE!!!!
Ok, i'm not very clued up on computers so i'll try to answer your questions as best i can.
I'm using Audacity 1.3 beta on my laptop.
I'm trying to record a dj mix straight in to the laptop. I'm guessing it's in the right port cos there's only 2 ports, 1 of which being for the headphones.

Re: Help PLEASE!!!!
If you're feeding the line-out signal from the mixer to the microphone socket on the computer that could explain the distortion, see these links ... http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 285#p76285chippy wrote:I'm trying to record a dj mix straight in to the laptop.
