new to audacity, have a question
hey there, just got audacity and i really like it. however i have a question on it and hope someone can help me. im using a 16 ch mixer and im wanting to record live but have seperate tracks for the instruments. im not really understanding the manual, and was wondering how i can seperate everything out and record. any help would be greatly appriciated. thanks again

You would need to use a multi-channel sound card (for example, Delta 1010lt)
Multi-channel recording is often easier if you use software that supports ASIO drivers (such as Cubase, Sonar or Reaper).
Once you have the raw recording, even if you have used other software to record, you can still use Audacity for editing.
Audacity should be able to record multiple tracks from a multi-channel sound card, but as there are relatively few Audacity users that have this kind of hardware it has not been tested as much as using Audacity with regular 2-channel (stereo) sound cards.
